During the March Semi-Annual Meeting many of you expressed interest in getting more information about the chemicals used for mosquito fogging in the association. To provide that information the Board not only reached out to our contracted vendor, but to the Harris County Public Health Department (HCPH) and the CDC.
The HCPH stated mosquito spraying in Houston, city & county, is a necessary health preventative measure. As spraying prevents outbreaks of illnesses or disease that mosquito bites cause.
For comparison purposes, we also followed up with areas that surround our community such as City of Houston, Ft. Bend County, City of Richmond, City of Katy, and even the City of Bellaire all have mosquito spray programs and some of these use the same main ingredient chemical sprayed in the MBHOA.
